THE ANIMAL PEOPLE ANTHOLOGY

Mission Statement

The ethics of the human-animal relationship are poised to be transformed in the 21st century.

The films of Tribe of Heart's Animal People documentary anthology offer viewers a chance to explore the implications of these new ethics for our individual lives, for our society, and for those billions of animals now being used for human purposes all over the world.

The stories of the anthology reveal some of the hidden injustices of our times. They also explore our wondrous human capacity to face difficult truths about ourselves and our way of life, and then respond with the power of compassion, creativity, and non-violence.

Integrating art, education, and a celebration of the human spirit, the films tell the stories of ordinary people who have experienced a profound change of heart and have then gone on to work for peaceful change.

Expressing principles common to the peace, environmental, human rights and animal rights movements, the films inspire personal transformation and mutual understanding.

The ultimate intent of the Animal People anthology is to foster community amongst all manner of concerned citizens and altruistic organizations working to create a more just and peaceful world.

The Witness and Peaceable Kingdom are the first two films to be completed of four planned documentaries in Tribe of Heart's Animal People anthology.
