From the beginning, it has been clear to us that our small organization would never be able to directly mount and sustain the kind of major publicity campaign that would be required to bring our films to the attention of the diverse national and international audiences they are capable of reaching. Instead, we have depended on the collective power of committed volunteers to spread the word.
As a result of the individual efforts of a large number of people, who have shared information with family members and friends, at their place of worship, on the internet, at organizations they belong to, or in the media, Tribe of Heart has been able to coordinate an amazingly effective publicity campaign for our first film, The Witness. The resulting momentum led to such benefits as increasing distribution of The Witness through the Tribe of Heart web site, opportunities for us to discuss The Witness with radio audiences in New York City, invitations to submit The Witness to film festivals, and even an article in the Los Angeles Times by Pulitzer Prize-winning television critic Howard Rosenberg advocating for the national broadcast of The Witness.
