Step-by-Step Guide to Holding a Screening

Teaching Guides for The Witness

High school teachers across the country are increasingly interested in bringing methods of humane education into their classrooms. The Witness, with its focus on compassion, social responsibility, and ethics, is a great fit for these individuals. To assist them, we have developed, in collaboration with humane educators, two high school lessons that meet national standards for secondary education in the Life Sciences and in English. Each lesson includes a detailed lesson plan for the teacher and a cluster of jigsaw readings for students to discuss in groups.

We are very interested in feedback from screenings held in the classroom, and also in working with teachers or humane educators with interest in developing new lessons.
