Social justice advocates often experience pressure to trade away their principles, and even their own peace of mind and integrity, in order to achieve a perceived sense of success in their work for change. What is the step by step process of “selling out,” and how can activists identify whether they are going down a counterproductive path, falling prey to a destructive dynamic? How might our own lives, and the future of our society, be transformed if we learn to bring greater integrity to our thoughts, words, and deeds?
